18 OCTOBER 2006 Be Part of an NYCLU Street Education Team on NYC Parent-Teacher Night, October 26th
In coalition with United for Peace and Justice and other organizations around New York City, the NYCLU will be out in force on October 26th educating parents about their rights to keep their children's information private from aggressive military recruiters. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up with the NYCLU to protect the privacy rights of New York City high school students.
But before you hit the pavement on October 26th, learn the background on military recruitment in New York schools and student and parent rights to privacy.
Join the NYCLU for a training on Monday, October 23rd at 7:00pm. Trainings will cover laws relevant to military recruitment and students’ rights; your right to leaflet outside of high schools on NYC streets; and leafleting techniques.
Please RSVP to Ari Rosmarin at arosmarin@nyclu.org or call 212.607.3358.
The training will be held in the NYCLU offices at 125 Broad Street, 19th Floor.
Take the 1 to South Ferry; 2/3 to Wall; R/W to Whitehall or 4/5 to Bowling Green.
